I made a fluid simulation from scratch

I go over how I made a fluid simulation from the ground up, and explain everything along the way with the help of some animations. (also my first video, please leave some feedback :) )

I believe the author explains the easy parts more than the complicated parts which results in little understanding. Tha hash part, for example is explained in 2 sentences while there is over 1.5 minutes about gradient and divergence. Another example is during the explanation of the changes to the simulation close to the end. Only the paper and the result is shown. Although the video is quite cool, the explanations are sometimes just not there.

Overall, a great job! Love how you start with a straightforward approach to simulating physics. And then you look at the 2 problems with this niche approach - finite precision and thousands of computational loops and come up with solutions for those two. I understand a fluid simulation is very math-heavy. But often times, it's nice to have metaphors for beginners to understand what you're doing. Especially the part where you play with the desmos graphs and create the hash table. Those could've been elaborated further in a more simpler language. Apart from that, a great job! Really amazing work!

You say "definition" where in paper say "approximation"

This is an impressive video for a first effort, so the author should be proud. However, I found the video to be a little difficult to follow at times. For example, the introduction of the "hash" was not well motivated. Why are we suddenly introducing large prime numbers? This was very unclear. I understand that somehow it reduced the number of computations, but it's still not clear where this came from. As another example, the author describes a 4th order Runge Kutte integrator. However, it seems like it would be much better to simply use a pre-written integrator rather than trying to write one from scratch. But perhaps the author wanted to do everything from scratch? Again, the motivation is not completely clear. Overall, what the author has done is very impressive, so I don't want to downplay that. I just don't think the video itself will necessarily be all that useful to others.

It was a very interesting topic. Did a great job of explaining each step. Good animation. I like the details of the struggles along the way. Nice work!

So you didn't quit YouTube

Very good but it could have some more math explanation - and the links in the Youtube are broken with "...".

Rating as "not as good" Sorry but I didn't like this video very much. I would have preferred it if you had explained the terms in the equations, rather than use juvenile terms like "upside down triangle"

Question: Did the viscosity function via La Placian complete the simulation which once had a sophisticated method applied to it? The functional code and math presentation as its foundation was engaging. I look forward to seeing your new additions next year!
