but what is a spinor

Audience:

spinors are the mathematical foundation of physical concepts like the quantum spin or the polarization of a light wave. they are known for being quite unintuitive, but they're quite simple really if you think of them in purely mathematical terms. spinors play a massive role in physics and math so this should be fun.

I liked the opening as it related the concept to something tangible fairly well.

Around halfway through the video, though, things started to get pretty complicated. Not that that’s a bad thing, but given the length of the video I think there was more juice you could have squeezed out of this topic. I think you’d benefit if you allowed yourself to slow down and focus in on the individual aspects of spinors, and how each aspect builds up to a complete understanding of them.

The original and fun tone of the video is much appreciated, as well as the fact that it gets straight to the point after a brief introduction. However, I would recommend sticking to a consistent style. For example, either always using handwritten notes or always computer-written notes, but not mixing the two. Also, at times — for instance, when discussing reflections and rotations of the group O(3) — the explanation goes on for quite a while without any accompanying visuals to illustrate what is being said.
