Summer of Math Exposition

Bad audio. Not a lot of math for a math video. Is this AI?

This is a nice introduction to topology, using proteins to motivate the basic idea. The video spends more time talking about biology/motivation than about topology. So an additional 5 minutes would be great, since this would let you discuss more of the basics of topology and how they tie back to the big question of protein folding. Currently the treatment of topology doesn’t fully pay off, since the setup was fairly ambitious.

As far as I know, what matters most for proteins is precisely their geometry—specifically, how they bind to other molecules given their precise size and shape. So, I am not at all sure that this is a good way to motivate the study of topology.
