Cool video!

Maybe a little bit fast paced, and the music in the background was not the best one which could be selected.

Nice that the Fibonacci Numbers appear again at the end. I also liked the stop motion, but for some, the dinosaurs might be a bit distracting. At the beginning, the music was a bit loud.

This is an excellent presentation of generating functions. And I really like the stop motion animation. It’s a bit hard to hear you over the background music, but that’s really a minor complaint.

A nice overview of the basic properties of generating functions and how we can use them to count things. I didn’t feel like this explained any of the concepts more deeply than I’ve seen them explained in other settings.

Motivation: I have come across generating functions before but never thought of them as just a useful tool for calculating the formula for terms of a sequence. There wasn’t a single motivation point, it was broken down into smaller motivations.

Clarity: I think the pace was quite fast in parts, I didn’t follow everything in a single watch-through of the video. I think there were parts where it was a quick sequence of formulas, which is always hard to follow. I appreciate that you spared us a lot of algebra in parts, and just jumped from the setup to the conclusions.

Novelty: I enjoyed the presentation of the video with the stop motion formulas and dinosaurs. It must have taken you a long time to film! I think it was a well-chosen subject, that people have come across but not thought about in the way you do.

Memorability: It changed the way that I think about generating functions, and I think I will remember the key message, even if I don’t remember all the details.

Music’s dominating you a bit, but I do like a good stop-motion animation.

I really liked the animation style, and the content seemed very interesting. But there was too much stuff for too little time and because of this there wasn’t much room for motivating why I would think to turn a sequence into a power series in the first place, or for more examples explaining the concepts. Left with the conclusions that stop motion dinosaurs are an awesome way to present and that generating functions are really cool, but not really getting the concepts. Would have been great if longer with less content and more motivation (also slightly lower volume music). Still cool video
