Very original topic! I had never seen any explanation about Elo system
great intro, very articulate, and i liked the 5 considerations at the end. subtle detail, but be careful with background music choice and how it flows into each other and with the video itself. more importantly, the video left some questions, like how exactly does ELO relate to probability of winning? are there other systems that could be better/worse in different ways? and how do changes in ELO exactly map to match results?
It is an interesting idea to use Elo for tennis, though I do not really see how this would support student understanding of some mathematical concept.
The Elo system is an interesting topic, and tennis is a good motivating example. But since this video is about Elo, it would be nice to give a bit more detail. How is the score update computed? Why does this mean the win probability only depends on the difference?
In the first six minutes, a clear point is repeated several times, which could have been summarized to leave more room for the technical part. The precise method and the mathematics behind this process could be useful and interesting exercises for the students, but they are not explored in depth. A pity.
very intuitive explanations, but I didn’t feel there was enough actual maths :(
