Motivation-wise I couldn’t really connect as much with the topic and why it was important. The explanations were decent for individual things, but animation wise I saw things like arrows being drawn but not really going to anything. I did like the style of the group call and the different characters, and the socratic teaching was awesome! Really creative and good effort, although maybe chill out on Robert having such a loud voice it was scary! I liked topic, but felt it was a bit drawn out and honestly I would have a hard time as a general viewer watching it until the end. Adding more animations describing the concepts I think would really help. Using the whiteboard to actually do things other than just write down words and draw ambiguous arrows. But overall thanks creating and keep at it!
The video idea is definitely unique; the format and style are akin to that of a real online class, and the characters simulate doubts or queries that real students may have. Although, the presentation could be a little better - more slides, accompanying text or examples on-screen would make it clearer and provide more context. Such features would also make it easier to navigate through the video, since it is a little hard to follow or backtrack through if you ever get lost. Timestamps or other markers can help, since the interactions between teachers and the “students” are doing most of the heavy-lifting here. Something more than audio cues would be helpful.
This is more of a linguistic/pedagogy video than a math video. It is also more of an opinion than an exposition. I didn’t actually learn anything new from listening to it. The insights therein should be obvious to anyone who taught math seriously.
I appreciate the attempt to give the video a structure of a classroom/socractic dialogue, but the AI voices are very offputting. A more refined choice of voices (and a better audio mixing) would have gone a long way.
I don’t strictly oppose discussions of pedagogy, but I think the discussion here is a bit on the shallow side. I also found that the video lacked focus or a clear goal, and it feels more like a part of an ongoing session than a self contained unit of knowledge.
All and all, I don’t see how this video fits in any way into a competition that’s supposed to be about math exposition, as it contains none.
This video is very difficult to rate in some ways. Who is the target audience? I’m in my late 20s and found it difficult to watch. The voice changers make it difficult to understand what’s being said and are just grating on my ears. All of the math concepts attempting to be taught were lost on me because I couldn’t get past the goofy presentation. Maybe this works well for other people, but it doesn’t work for me. It seems like more of a satire video than an educational video. A mix of those could be done, but this is overdone in my opinion.
