The Fourier series and Fourier transform has been explained in many videos before. The explanations in this videos are decent but not better than those of the videos that already exist and the presentation doesn’t add much new beyond the already existing content. Visually, the presentation is good but again, not much novelty. The voiceover is a bit monotonous and not very engaging.

The manim animations were very good and illustrated the concepts well. Graphs were clear and the visuals were never too cluttered with one or two graphs and formulas per scene which made it easy to follow.

The video did fulfill its goal of showing how a Fourier Transform works visually, but I would have liked to see a deeper dive into the math of how the formulas work. Why does the integral decompose a signal into its component waveforms? Solid video with great examples, but the content could use a bit more exploration about the general formula.

the video feels too fast. I also usually try to avoid comments about how people speak, but here you really could (and in my opinion should) slow down a bit and speak more clearly, it’s not good to learn while in a rush

The video assumes a lot of knowledge from the viewer. For example, the creator immediately assumes the viewer knows what the “fundamental” frequency is, and seems to assume the viewer already knows how to compute the Fourier components. I find this very odd for a video that is designed to explain this exact topic. The bottom line is that I don’t think the target audience will benefit much from this video.

On the positive side, I do note that the visuals are pretty good for this video. In the future, I recommend that the creator think much more critically about the knowledge base of the target audience, and then designs the script/video accordingly.

I appreciate the nice graphics and the effort that went into this; for someone who already knows Fourier series/transforms it is a nice visualization of all the topics covered. However, as a tool for students this is not very useful. The main issue is that it goes too fast for students to understand, and important parts are glossed over and not explained. Something like “start with the fundamental frequency” but then not explaining what this means can be actively harmful for student learning because it makes students either intimidated or else try to proceed without understanding. You could try to flip it and make it more curiosity based: something like “there is something called the fundamental frequency, and in this case it looks like this. This matches our intuition etc and has a complicated integral formula that you can make sense of by XYZ”. Similar ideas with the filters, time vs frequency domain etc: to be useful it has to be hyper focused on the learner and their needs. Overall great effort and nice video but as teaching tool there is a lot of room for improvement. Great job!
