Eternalism is the philosophy that time is a spacial dimension that shows itself as slices of a greater hypervolume that we see as the present. This video takes the philosophy to the next level, not only envisioning a world where one can step out of their temporal plane, but also how the laws of physics would operate in such a world.

While visually creative, its mathematical swaps feel more like arbitrary graphing tricks than a grounded thought experiment.

This is a really cool, ambitious, and creative premise. It is such an abstract mind-bending concept and you do a great job grounding it in an accessible way. I feel like there was a bit of whiplash when you introduced these massive philosophical ideas like Eternalism and Presentism in the first 45 seconds, only to abandon them. It would have been nice to use that as a framing device to explain the weird physics throughout the video. I also feel like the pacing was pretty quick, as there was so much to cover and there wasn’t a lot of time to process the math. All in all, really fun watch, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what you want to say with this. Also, the range rate of the Desmos Demo amd/or the screen capture is so low that it makes the objects’ movement very choppy. Which is quite bad with such a topic.

Anyway, I didn’t walk away from this video understanding its technical elements, so I’ll not comment on them. Of course, this means that I don’t think it was very effective. Probably I’m not in the intended audience.

Still, I do think that the fun informal style was taken to an extent that is fundamentally at odds with the format of an expository video. My experience watching this video was that because the narration came across as ironically detached from the material, I never really believed it was invested in its own content, and since I didn’t see that it cared, I didn’t see why I should care either.

Anyway, I can’t in good conscience rate lower for two reasons. First, importantly nothing in here seems actively misleading, which does put you above a few other videos I’ve seen this year. Second, the last two minutes on relativistic effects are quite intriguing to me, and make me wish that the first 10 minutes were explained in a way that would allow me to make more sense of them.
