I was planning to take a break from reviewing videos, but I’ve seen the thumbnail saying “fully homomorphic encryption” and I had to click on it. Thank’s for sharing the video. You sound really confident and fluent on the camera, and I laughed at the hidden jokes :D . I also liked the “interview” parts, it adds some authenticity.

I do understand that this is meant as an introductory video, but I’d like to know how that homomorphic encryption scheme and bootstrapping works. It sounds like some kind of magic. I’m just not sure if it’s something that can be explained in easy to understand YouTube video.

I didn’t quite get how the proposed solution works. It would have been nice for to see it implemented on the example with the squares. Otherwise, the video was good but since this was the main point of the video I guess, I can’t really give a much higher score.

Awesome video that shows what a homomorphism is really well. I wish you also presented some diagrams explaining the bootstrapping mechanism!

Also: Euclid the inventor of calculus?

I couldn’t understand what Dr. is saying at all. but other part of the video are awesome, and the idea of FHE will definitely be delivered to viewer from by this video

This was a very interesting and entertaining explainer of a fascinating topic! I don’t know much about cryptography, although I have an interest in the subject. The intro and motivation was laid out clearly. I also really like the style of the video and the mix of talking to the camera, showing examples, explanations with animations and interviewing. I didn’t get 100% of everything that has been talked about but I still got the gist of it and I didn’t feel like I’m getting lost throughout the video. I have never heard about this before and will definitely remember this! The only reason why I am not giving the full number of points is because I think there is still some small room for improvement. I think it’s unfair to compare the quality to the professional channels like Veritasium etc. but some things like the sound quality or overall polishing could have made this even better.

Well , use open source models locally like gpt oss 20b , it does not a company sever to host responses it. Speaking of video it was cool (it would be good if explanation was a bit to deep )

Going step by step through the FHE image filter made an excellent impression of what the end goal is. The logarithm and exponentiation example was very clear as well, nicely done.

I think the shifting letters example did not contribute to further understanding, the aforementioned logarithm example is certainly in the wheelhouse of the target audience. I wish there was a bit more information about Dr. Gentry’s actual FHE scheme, but I certainly understand the leap in complexity that would require.

Or is it??? love the unexpected morph, made me laugh in a math vid, props for that :) also, love you stanning the old math guys (Cesar, Boole…)

the topic is relevant and presenred in an engaging way

maybe rethink the camera angle for the interview (at least in the beginning, the shot from the bottom left wasn’t flattering)

This video has everything, including distinguished guest, and it is a good start, but a lot to remains to work on. I think the target audience is not clear. The fun effect shows that they’re younger students, but then the math explanation should be more detailed or with less content. I would try to get feedback from people watching the video, and see how much they understand from it, and then improve the video.

The most hurting problem is the least relevant to the topic. It is the Euler portrait claimed to be Euclid’s who is also said to be the inventor of calculus. If this is a joke, I don’t get it. Otherwise, it is misinformation.
