To be honest, I would have liked to give more points for this video because its genuinely an interesting topic, but what prevails is just your tone which partially becomes pretty arrogant. (See e.g. at 4:40 “if i were to explain how an xbox [] camera works it would break your brain”) Generally i don’t think its the point of an educational video to tell the viewer that they aren’t smart enough to understand what you would like to explain to them.

I don’t argue with the technique effectiveness and originality, but:

  • the math is not actually explained
  • the long text in some parts of the video is not readable unless one pauses
  • the patronizing tone does not help

Hi! I watched your video. I find the topic very intriguing and since I work a lot with 3D scanning it’s nice to see something like this that takes a new approach to triangulation (but better and more adaptive than triangulation) It’s quite an extensive model to wrap my head around though, and it was hard to absorb all of the information. Especially listening to your narrative and reading all of the text on screen at the same time was a bit of challenge. So I didn’t get an entire explanation on the math behind the setup. and for instance how one would solve knowing the exact camera positions and transformations. This would be awesome to see in a simulated 3D model that makes the information shared a bit more accessible for viewers. I hope you’ll be able to find the larger datasets for your project! Interesting topic, slightly confusing video, good humor, but a bit short on distilled and digestible information.

A very interesting topic and some great visuals. However I do have quite a few critiques.

Tone Im putting this first because it really stuck out to me. While this does sound important and certainly a great leap for one individual to discover, the tone of a large part of the video sounded like it was the next best thing since sliced bread. I would suggest instead of dumping on the other tracking techniques such as triangulation, discuss pros and weaknesses between the two techniques. You should be proud of yourself for all of this work and development you’ve poured into this but don’t glaze it too much

Application There were so many great examples of application in this video, and I wish I could have seen some more in the field action. Especially the bird one that peaked my curiosity as a (seemingly) harmless and easy thing to study, I would’ve loved to have seen all of the work it took you to get that data and that visualisation, and even comparing it directly to other existing techniques to show how this method shines aboves them with more concrete evidence.

Explanation The visual explainers were very good but some language ones fell short. It does seem very easy to understand but after the understandable and interesting intro leaping straight into (unintelligible to me) ‘pixel to voxel’ ‘project into the voxel grid’. I eventually caught on but leaning into it slower would be nice.

The video seems a bit unfocused (no pun intended) - it might be better to pick one use-case and stick to it. Personally, I love space, so I would be thrilled to hear you spend the entire video discussing asteroid detection - and as that seems to be your passion, that would probably be easier for you, too.

This is not math exposition. You didn’t even try to make the description here understandable.

For the purposes of student understanding, the tone of this came across as a brag or a challenge more than an inviting guided tour. You present a hypothesis that this is a good technique and then present heuristic arguments, but don’t go into real evidence that what you’re doing is working.

It would be much more impressive as a project if you could start with just making your own data throwing random stuff around outside. The story of building everything from scratch would also make for a more compelling video, rather than a sort of hypothetical idea.

It sounds like the author has found an effective and impressive technique for locating moving objects in the overlapping view of multiple cameras, but the video does not adequately explain what the method actually is. For an educational video, I would have liked to see a sort of “hand-holding walk-through” that would leave the viewer with enough understanding to feel capable of attempting an implementation if they wanted to.
