Linear Algebra Explained Through Narrative Visualization

This video is a little different from the rest of the video you'll like see in this entry, instead of explainer, i did a animation storytelling video where the main character Jimmy finds the math class boring and enters the kingdom of mathematic upon falling asleep. The video is not finished yet, and a lot is to come and I will keep animating even after the challenge ends. Throughout the series I will make sure linear algebra is as intuitive as it could be possible. Produced as part of a mathematics contest submission, this work highlights both the clarity of exposition and the innovation of presentation style.

it’s a nice idea, certainly. But maybe due to the unfinished state, I didn’t find a lot of things to learn about.

I think it’s very creative that you’re imagining a story setting around math. A lot of math explainers I’ve seen just focus on the topic, which can be dry. So the novelty and memorability are the strengths of your video. Where it fell short was that I didn’t learn any new math by the end of it. Like, if the title is “Linear Algebra Explained” then what is the linear algebra lesson I’m supposed to take away from it? Because of that I think the motivation and clarity are weak points. But I still like the idea of your story telling. Had you decided on a lesson objective and weaved a fantasy world story around it I think this could’ve been a great video.

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard watching a maths video. I love the IDEA of the series, and your style is genuinely so engaging.

However, there wasn’t really any maths explained in the video. Jimmy asked a good question about the dot product which I thought the video might elaborate further - adding a visual explanation of the dot product would have helped.

Regardless, I am sure there’s more videos to come and I hope there are because I was very entertained. But I can only give a score based on this video you submitted.

So confusing. What’s the point? How can it be useful for students?
