From rigid motion to cross product

Audience:

This video is meant to show why the cross product describes motion of rigid bodies, but I didn't really get to finish it in time. This is what I have so far. 2 mins to submit, so that's all I can say

I see what you’re going for and it looks like it has the potential to be absolutely amazing! The visualisations you have showing the vectors at every point look wonderful and clear. I would love to see this properly finished one day!

Well done for getting the entry submitted!

I liked watching the square roll down hill and seeing the arrows change with each hit.

Making videos is very hard and time consuming - for your next video have a think about what is a realistic amount of material you can feasibly cover.

This looks like the makings of a great video, but because it is unfinished, I can’t in good faith put it very high. It looks close to done, so I hope you are able to finish it soon.

Can’t really justify a higher score than this for an incomplete entry. That being said the visuals are very well done from what I see! I hope you finish this project :)

This was an interesting watch! My feedback is irrespective of the fact that this was unfinished — I’ll speak to what I did see.

I think an audio narration would have immensely helped to provide some context to many of the scenes. I could only infer some of the context for each scene, but I am sure I missed much of the meaning/many of the insights.

I was impressed with the physics simulations and your technical skills in animation — the vector plots were stunning. Although I wasn’t always to follow the algebraic steps, because the type of Transformation you used made it hard to keep track of which symbols became which others. I also think many of these animations would benefit from including symbols/labels — especially if certain portions of the animations represent certain terms in the cross product formula!

I think the video is novel and doesn’t stray from the inherent complexity in taking cross-products. I am not sure that this video would be appropriate for most high schoolers, but I’d have to see the completed version. I hope you are able to finish this video at some point, and good work!
