Summer of Math Exposition

The introduction with animation and visuals would be good to be expanded.

It’s a dull straightforward idea, and the world certainly does need videos explaining those ideas! But given that, it’s too long for what it is, and it’s not particular exciting. But I admire his enthusiasm and reasonably clear explanation.

I loved the whiteboard section; it made the video feel authentic and personal. However, instead of the dot product explanation at around 8:40, I would have liked a pure geometrical explanation using similar triangles (you even had the diagram drawn!) since the target audience likely has no idea what a dot product is.

It would have been nice to mention where the vector analogy breaks down (e.g. dividing by a complex number), and the pros and cons of vectors vs complex numbers (e.g. polar form).

This video is mildly interesting, but I’m still confused as to what the point is. The beginning part wasn’t too bad, but then it simply because a video of a lecture, which defeats the point of making a video. Again, there’s some mildly interesting things discussed in the video, but the storyline really needs some work.

Unfortunately, the bulk of this has been covered by 3b1b before, so it’s not very novel. I’m also not a fan of the description which seems to be arguing the point that complex numbers are vectors, rather than stating it as a fact. It doesn’t explain why this would be disputed. The transition from one mic + animated video to a different mic + whiteboard seemed odd.
