Summer of Math Exposition

Really nice visuals!!! I’ve taught PCA many times and I can recognize lots of good ideas in this. Unfortunatly, without more details explanations/definitions of what everything means (e.g. what is “sum of residuals” (related: did you means sum of residuals squared)?) it is very hard to use this in a class. It could serve as a nice teaser video to get students pumped or a followup video to show after you’ve covered PCA, but on its own because its the visuals only without the surrouding definitions/explanations I am not sure how I would use it in my teaching.

I really needed explanations of what was happening and why it was happening. I often failed to se the continuity between steps and even though i’ve worked with vectors and linear algebra the equations confused me since non of the terms where explained. The initial visual explanation of vector addition was very nice however

The visuals look professional and well-designed. Adding context or explanations on more occasions or even explaining the starting point (in text) would have helped a lot in understanding what the visuals are meant to explain.
