Math is everywhere; name anything, and mathematics finds a way to it. Heck, name nothing, math might just get there anyway. It’s an addictive rabbit hole, but hey, so is linguistics. What happens if we merge the two together…? In this video, we will dive into the realm of formal linguistics, going over basic concepts and types of languages, which are compared to Cursed Conlang Circus submissions.

Fun video! Probably too fast for newcomers to catch most of what you’re trying to share, but it’s a nice style that you have.

Too fast and not thoroughly explained for me sadly to understand the usage of it

It took me a while to figure out what the video was even about, and I do wish the video explained a bit more how this actually applies to compiling programming. I had fun watching it, though

It works perfectly as a brief introduction for the topic. The fun tone is much appreciated and the animations are great.

Maybe it lacks a memorable result to remember once you’ve finished the video, other than knowing that formal linguistics exists.

7.1

Nice explanation, appealing visuals. Good job!

I don’t know if I did not pay sufficient attention (a me problem), but I really feel like I did not get half of the things said in the video. Interesting topic and good humor though!

2.2

I thought the lighthearted nature was nice to see; it made me feel comfortable during the video. it was especially effective when I understood the material being discussed at the moment.

The motivation was lost on me until the end where they talked about one particular (totally valid) use case for the subject matter.

I thought all around, they went too fast for someone who doesn’t often watch or read material in this space. The graphical representations used didn’t quite help me understand the material. Wtf is aSb?

I liked the animations and pictures on the whole tho.
