I found the narrative so abstractly related to the mathematical ideas it was supposed to be explaining that it was probably more difficult to read than if it were just a simple explanation of the concept. I don’t think I come away from this with a very good understanding of what the bias-variance tradeoff is with respect to ML, but it highlights to people some of the issues involved in machine-learning, that it isn’t just a case of dumping a load of data in front of a computer and letting it run.

The mathematical content is unfortunately hidden somewhere in the text, so it is a bit difficult to follow the main idea

It was hard to link it back to the maths. The story made it confusing for me.What is rigidness / persuasion?
