Summer of Math Exposition

This video showcases a great topic selection that I truly have never heard before. It is informative in various areas of math from exponential growth and linear approximations. The presenter is engaging and great. If I would have any constructive feedback, it would be that to work on making it more clickbaity and getting right into the story. A title like "How to double your money in 5 years - The rule of 70". Nevertheless, well done. I really learnt something new from the video :)

The video was good, but I think that the presentation might not be very open to people who aren't already learning about maths in their free time, however the content itself was very interesting to learn about.

Overall, the video gives a very comprehensive and intuitive way to understand the rule of 70/72. Especially mentionable is the motivation given at the start, explaining the applicability to the real world. Now to the aspects which are still optimizable in my opinion: I feel like the explanatory part of friends Jesus and Moses took too long, regarding the fact that we'd have the essentially the same type of example being demonstrated 4 times. The actual derivation was comprehensive too, but i felt that it was strechted out as well. I have to admit that the target audience might be people very new to maths and the video is at the very right pace for this audience. For me, it felt like the topic could have been explained equally good in only around 9 minutes. Regarding the novelty as given in the guidelines, I've never heard of this rule before, but i feel like I have learned something new using the video. Even though, the mathematics presented in the video did not quite introduce new concepts. Therefore, I've rated it just below "about the same". The overall impression that remained was the slow pace of the video, in the sense that derivations might have been shown too extensively. I want to thank the author for their entry to SOME and hope my criticism did not seem too negative. I'm looking forward to hopefully see another entry by this author next year.

This video is phenomenal, at least the first 6min should be mandatory to kids in high school. I knew the rule but I loved this presentation. Math and humor blend nicely.

Interesting rule of thumb which I didn't know, but a bit to much advertising for stock investmens at the beginning. I personally don't like the "gonzo" style (sorry, I'm not a native speaker, I mean this talking like a vendor). Nevertheless, thanks for a helpful formula!

Competent and pleasant presentation of topic - explains use of "rule", then summarizes why the estimation is plausible. On the other hand, zeal for the "Jesus Saves, Moses Invests" slogan misses opportunity to develop intuition about exponential growth. I suggest an extra (or replacement) example with rates that are much closer, e.g., a parent/grandparent invests for a newborn child: selects rate 2% or 3%, then compare balance at age 70 (i.e., after 2 or 3 doubling periods).

The religious symbology and allusions were a bit jarring to see in a video about mathematics. While the production quality was good, it felt gimmicky at times.
