Visualising the Binomial Theorem

When I first learned about the binomial theorem, it felt like an algebraic trick, and I dismissed it quite quickly as a speed math hack. But as I thought more about it, I realised that there was a really interesting visual way to understand it, and that made me finally appreciate it. I wanted to share that appreciation in this video. (Sorry about the animations! I'm going to upload another, non-glitchy version later. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it in time for the competition deadline.)

Great intro for the what and why you’re tackling. The only main thing I would change is the title, it’s very generic and doesn’t really tell us what exactly about the Binomial Theorem you’re talking about. Something like “How the Binomial Theorem relates to Geometry”, just a random example, would work.

Some audio issues here and there, unfortunately the sound effects seem to be heavily distorted on my headphones. But overall presented cleanly and smoothly.

Try and to get a consistent audio loudness. Try clipping and using two pass normalize. I’m sure you’ll improve over time. The video was pretty good.

The animation is very fast and distracting. The presence of a lot of text does not help to maintain attention. There are audio issues. The topics often change in complexity: some are within the reach of high-school students, but others go beyond. I suggest keeping a more linear structure and varying the video style a bit (avoiding screens that always contain only text and Cartesian representations).

It is a good introduction to Binomial Theorem. Someone unfamiliar with the topic connects it quickly.

It made me feel that higher dimensional math is literally everywhere. A feeling that has deepened a lot in recent times; LLM training, statistical degrees of freedom, Complex numbers, and now the binomial theorem all point to thinking in higher dimension. It’s a little overwhelming.
