Summer of Math Exposition

It was not intuitive what I was supposed to learn from the application. I tinkered with it some but didn’t come away with a clear view of what I was supposed to focus on as the take away.

I can imagine that for new learners, putting in an equation, and seeing it be dissected and explained at every step can be very helpful. Although this is not where it is right now, I wish you good luck in taking your vision further!

I haven’t seen anything like this used for math. It has a lot of potential. Let me suggest another direction this idea could go in. Maybe this knowledge graph could be used in an exploration based puzzle game, such that each node may be associated with some area/level/puzzle. Then, when you unlock that area/level/puzzle, the corresponding node lights up. Maybe the node pages contain puzzles, which themselves unlock a secret/advanced area.

Think carefully about what this project is, what it wants to convey and make sure it becomes the best version of that. Best of luck.

I think for beginners, (which I assume this is intended for), the topics could be presented in a much linear fashion starting from integers and variables, and then building on them to introduce expressions and equations. The graph approach is not necessarily bad, but I think concepts like these when presented linearly can be much easier to remember.

Representing the equation as graphs however, might be a great way to visualize them. I personally feel it can be quite memorable. The interface was slightly clunky, but with a little bit of polish, it is can be great way to explain equations, and to make the order of operations clearer.

Finally, I think the motivation for solving equations remains unclear. I think a tiny introduction at the beginning (instead of, or alongside the definition of equations) about why one would want to learn about solving equations could be helpful as well.
