Rediscovering the metric tensor and how it relates to curvature.
Audience: undergraduate

The core question is could we intuitively rediscover all the necessary math of general relativity (differential geometry and tensor calculus) from first principles? In this video, we will rediscover the idea of metric tensor from scratch (pythagorus theorem) and see why it lies at the heart of general relativity. And how it helps us mathematically think about curvature of N-dimensional space.

This is SO good! I think I would have loved this when younger - now I am just a bit sad that I learnt this concept “the boring way” in school haha! GREAT visuals, soothing voice, calm and pedagogical explanation.
This is more personal preference, but the pace could be slightly higher and the opening montage looked grabbed from a Kurzgesagt-video which made me worried the rest of the video might also be some weird sample of clips instead of original content. Oh was I wrong! The content is amazing!
Really nice tshirt also :) Would love to chat at some point about your experience running the channel, I’m very inspired. /IQ
Extremely good job at keeping this topic accessible to all viewers. The calculations are very clear and lead step by step to the full formulation in a way that makes logical sense. All of the animations are professionally done.
I disagree with the video time to time.
Very cool! Coming from a more mathy background, I find the way you build up the concepts very intuitive and make a lot of sense. I think some more formalism could be nice, but in a YouTube video that is definitely hard to do while keeping people interested.
It’s also quite long, which is fine considering it is an involved topic.
The way you explain is unique and amazing.I love it
There is no part confusing at all, but this video is very well presented. I also love enthusiasm of a speaker. Not quite new but something many math teachers would know was very well presented.
Very enthusiastic video. I would like to learn more!
Very cool subject and clear visuals. I had to watch that on 2x but I liked the presentation and the ”plot”, very well strung together. Looking forward to the next episode!
Great video, though I feel like it’s a bit unfair that you’re competing in this competition :P
